The Texas Connector, an online, interactive mapping tool, was launched in September 2012 to help communities, state and local governments, funders and nonprofit leaders meet the state’s growing needs. It provides a visual snapshot of social service needs and resources in Texas based on nonprofit information from state and national databases, and overlays this with demographic and socioeconomic data. This includes resources to identify gaps between areas served by nonprofits and communities that are underserved.
- identify nonprofits within a geographic area by name, address, service type or keyword;
- analyze community needs, resources and nonprofit services to address gaps in service;
- create customized statistical reports for user identified regions of interest; and
- save and share custom searches, maps, identified providers and demographic reports.
Annual subscription costs for a small non-profit start at $100 for a single user. Costs go up based on the size and type of organization, plus the number of users.
