The Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities released a request for proposals in late June to obtain proposals for a project that will improve transportation services for Texans with disabilities. This project will also involve more individuals with developmental disabilities in existing transportation planning processes in order to increase accessible, affordable transportation that supports the full inclusion of people with disabilities in their community. Applications for the five-year project are due August 29, 2012.
RFP for Healthcare Services, Behavior Supports and Respite
TCDD also plans to release an RFP this month for four projects that build a local community’s capacity to provide high quality, community-based, person-centered and family-centered healthcare services, behavior supports, and respite to support people with developmental disabilities.
Self-Advocacy Projects
Other projects that should be announced soon include a variety of efforts to promote self-advocacy through conferences in Texas.
