The Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities released a request for proposals in late July to create up to four projects that help organizations develop a strategic plan which builds a community’s capacity to provide community-based services that decrease the need for individuals with disabilities to be served in an institution. Once these plans are completed, the organizations may request funding from TCDD to carry them out. Proposals are due Sept. 12, 2012.
TCDD also expects to release a RFP early fall 2012 to create a project that provides support for self-advocates as speakers. This project will recruit, advertise and provide administrative support to promote self-advocates as presenters and facilitators at conferences in Texas.
