A new report by the National Council on Disability indicates that almost 10% of American children have a parent with a disability and these parents often struggle to maintain custody of their kids, about 6.1 million children. The report explores prejudices faced by parents with disabilities, exposes the unequal treatment often encountered in the court and service systems, and calls for new state and federal laws to protect their rights.
