Interim Study Topics Being Released for Legislative Committees

Texas Legislature

The Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives and Lieutenant Governor appoint Interim Committees between each legislative session to study important issues that help guide the legislature’s decisions in the future. These interim committees hold hearings and take public testimony. Their findings will affect actions taken during the next regular session which begins Jan. 8, 2013. Interim charges for the House were released in the fall, and Senate interim charges are expected in January. Individuals who wish to provide input on any of these issues can submit written comments directly to the committee involved or attend committee hearings.
