An interactive map showing where some of the state’s most active Medicaid providers are at was created by the Texas Tribune in March 2012. This resource compares the number of residents in Medicaid by county and the number of providers by city. “We found there were fewer than two providers per 1,000 people on average,” the Texas Tribune said. “And the number was lower, on average, in cities with populations larger than 50,000.”
There is also a list of provider reimbursements for fiscal year 2010 which includes the city where located, name and provider type, such as doctors, physical therapists, dental groups and medical suppliers.
