The Grant and Contract Coordinator (coordinator) performs advanced grant development, coordination, and administration work for TCDD grants and contracts. Specific duties include coordinating, reviewing, evaluating, and reporting of grants at various stages to determine compliance with requirements and standards. Duties also include serving as a liaison between federal and state funding sources and grantees. The coordinator works under limited direction with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
Work and Qualifications
Work for this position includes:
- Performing review and analysis of project costs, budget accuracy, budget justifications, and budget revisions for awarded grants.
Applies federal uniform administrative requirements, cost principles, and financial accounting rules to grant recipients.
Prepares progress reports on expenditures and work plan activities and makes presentations to the Council.
Communicates extensively with grantees by negotiating to resolve procedural, legal, budget, and compliance issues.
Follows processes and procedures for proper routing and tracking of applications for approval and to meet TCDD performance measures.
Other duties related to grants management and administration, such as training; development and updating procedures, forms, and reports; and maintenance and operation of division databases.
Travel sufficient to perform these duties is required (approximately 10% travel statewide).
Qualified applicants will have:
- Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience developing, negotiating, or working with the program, legal and/or fiscal aspects of federal and/or state grant programs or contracts. Work experience related to working with people with disabilities is preferred.
Substitution: Education and experience may substitute for one another on a year-for-year basis.

Salary and Benefits
